1 Goths In Church Introduction

I don’t think Goths In Church has any particular meaning – it’s just a phrase consisting of two ridiculous juxtapositions that popped into my head – and when I put it to Spiffydame, the idea seems to have tickled her fancy as much as mine. We conferred a little bit on the overall concept, particularly the preacher and the congregation but to be honest, the Goth characters are all Ms. Spiffy Dame.

Is it meant to be blasphemous?

Hell, no! *joke*

Actually, I can only guess that my subconscious thought it might be fun to see Goths in their Sunday best, so, disrespect certainly wasn’t my intent – nor do I think it was Ms. Spiffy Dame’s. Nevertheless, I think that I can speak for both of us in saying that we share a disrespect of preachers who whip their congregations into indignant fury – particularly, as doing so would appear to be against the teachings of all of the world’s main religions. If you consider that blasphemous, well, then I reluctantly accept the charge, though I stress, no harm was ever intended.

And who are these pictured Goths?

Well, I like to believe that they’re alter-egos of Ms. Spiffy Dame & Suburban Geek, looking on, slightly bemused at the service and Life, in general – gotta admit, we both look pretty good!
